Natalia Fedner is a couture designer based in Los Angeles. She was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Columbus, Ohio as a child. She moved to New York and later Paris to attend Parsons School of Design and study the techniques of haute couture. During her studies and after graduating, Natalia worked for Calvin Klein Collection, Donna Karan Collection, and Marc Jacobs. Natalia is most well known for inventing Stretch Metal and creating avant garde designs and jewelry for celebrities including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Doja Cat, Janet Jackson, Charlize Theron, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Shakira, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kristen Stewart, Sharon Stone, Chloe X Halle, Anitta, Pamela Anderson, Bebe Rexha, Keke Palmer, Laverne Cox, and others. Her designs have been on runways in Paris and NYC, and featured in the prestigious windows of Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC. Magazines highlights include Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, The Cut, L’Officiel, Esquire, Maxim, Sports Illustrated, Complex, and Galore. While competing on Project Runway: Under The Gunn, she created the first working mechanical dress in the history of the series. Her interest in designing and inventing started at the early age of 4 when she began collecting “pretty colored wires” that were left as trash outside of a local telephone communications company in her native Chernivtsi, Ukraine (She would turn them into bracelets for herself and friends). Fedner is currently working on her first fine art offering, incorporating her patented textile into sculptures.

ATELIER
Design Studio
Natalia leads a small team in creating unique one-of-a-kind pieces for clients and stores. For her and her team, each piece is like wearable art – no two pieces are alike and the process for making each is as unique as its final result. Whenever possible vintage silk fabrics are used to make the yarn, creating not only a beautiful and limited design, but also one that is environmentally and animal friendly. The yarn, the garments, even the hand engraved silver and gold plated metal brand tags are all made in Los Angeles. Natalia is committed to keeping all aspects of production in the USA and as much as possible in her own atelier. For Natalia’s signature “Black Widow” knitwear, no electricity is used – each stitch is moved by hand and each garment is sewn up by hand using French haute couture techniques Natalia studied in Paris and has taught to her team.

STRETCH METAL
PATENTED TECHNOLOGY
After a rigorous process of trial and lots of errors, Natalia successfully designed a 100% metal textile that has 6-way stretch. It instantaneously molds to the body, adopting the heat of the wearer within 15 seconds, and is both comfortable and strong. Stretch Metal received its patent in 2021. As a company, we look forward to continuing to build on this new textile and collaborating with other designers/companies on its many uses.

PRODUCTION

We offer both custom designs and an annual collection. Because we create hand made couture, we are limited in our quantities. However we are able to get you the designs much faster than commercial companies that operate on seasonal schedules. The turnover time is generally 4-6 weeks depending on the size of the order.
